Don’t skip another second in snagging a bunch of this awesome lil gem while we have it!!!  The 2014 Viamonte Bonarda from the small town of Maipú inside Argentina’s most renowned region of Mendoza.  Today, we secured a HEAP of this wonderful juice because not only does it deliver on DRINK OUT OF THE BOTTLE NOW flavors, but also because at $12.99/bottle on six+…It’s a STEAL!!!

What Is Bonarda?

Technically, the name “Bonarda” applies to several different distinct grape varieties that originated in Italy.  However, here in California, we would equate bonarda to charbono.  In Argentina, bonarda is the most widely plated varietal after malbec and covers nearly 50,000 acres.

How Does It Taste?

In the 2014 Viamonte Bonarda fresh aromas of BOYSENBERRIES and BLACK PLUMS exude with ease.  RIPE RED CHERRIES immediately captivate your senses as flavors of TOBACCO and WILD GAME finish with subtle EARTHY notes.  The SILKY tannins in the Bonarda provide for pleasant experience consumed on its own but it will certainly pair well with your favorite grilled steak preparation or any other weeknight faire.

Winery Tasting Notes: “A flashy red, displaying a vibrant core of crushed wild cherry. Intense aroma, modern style. A deep well of dark plum, Kirsch and chocolate flavors.  Boysenberry notes that glide over round tannins. Creamy mid-palate with long luscious finish of black fruits and plum sauce.

Cheers,
