Back in the summer of ’17, we introduced a little gem to the Carpe Vino “wine-ciety” and the response was nothing less than spectacular.  The wine was the 2014 Olema Chardonnay which Robert Parker of “The Wine Advocate” named his #1 selection of the “Top Three Value Wines of 2016.” Retailing for $15 per bottle, receiving 87 Points and dubbed a “terrific value and sleeper selection” made clicking the “BUY NOW” button seem automatic for Chard drinkers!

We have been anticipating the new release of the 2016 OLEMA (by Amici Cellars) CHARDONNAY and GUESS WHAT…that day is finally here!  With it’s highest Parker rating ever (88 Points), this vintage not only stands up to the 2014, but surpasses it with an unbelievable depth of flavor, but still balanced and refined.  Drink now or forever hold your peace!

James Suckling: 91 Points!!!

“Loquat and lots of white flowers to this chardonnay as well apples and pear drops. Medium body, fine acidity and a fruity finish.”

Winery Tasting Notes

“This opulent but well-balanced chardonnay opens with aromas of ripe pear, quince, warm toast and vanilla bean. On the palate, ripe apple and notes of pie spice are highlighted by fresh citrus, the melody of complex flavors lingering long on the finish.”

THE WINE ADVOCATE:  review of 2014 Olema

Rated #1 of the “Top 3 Value Wines” worldwide of 2016;  “The 2014 Chardonnay Olema at $15.00 from Sonoma is a heck of a bottle of wine, with honeysuckle, lemon blossom and a touch of white peach all present in this wine that offers clean, pure fruit, medium body and a distant hint of wood. This is a terrific value and sleeper selection. Drink it over the next year.”

Cheers,
