Gary’s Comments:

Fawnridge WineryIn 2000, the Perrys succumbed to the appeal of living a wine lifestyle and committed to the difficult and expensive quest of planting vines and the construction a winery building. Though smaller in scale than other producers in Placer County, the couple has searched widely to source grapes from all over the Sierra foothills in their pursuit of making great wines. In the short time Fawnridge has been in operation, it has succeeded in developing a style of its own and a reputation for high quality in affordably priced wines. The current wine list features a Sauvignon Blanc for just $12 and a Chardonnay for $18 and the 2006 Sangiovese is $25, and it just won a gold medal at the prestigious 2009 Indianapolis wine completion.

Beyond this, the Perrys have worked tirelessly as advocates for the wine industry in Placer County. Stewart has spoken widely about the local industry and the couple were deeply involved in helping to secure passage of a winery ordinance for Placer County.

Fawnridge wines are developing a fan base across the region, and Stew and Steph should be rightly proud of what they have accomplished as a family and as a team.
