The concept is simple: come in before 5 p.m. any day Carpe Vino is open, and we’ll pour you one ounce each of any five wines we have open for just $5.
Makes no difference if the wine retails for $10 per bottle or $50, you can taste any of the 40+ wines that are open by the glass. There are just a couple of rules. . .no sharing and we’re offering just one 555 tasting per day per customer.
The response from regulars and visitors alike has been awesome. It is fun, economical and our customers understand that they can purchase any of the wines they taste. . .and they are, which is something we really appreciate.
So, come on in, drop a fin on the bar and taste away!
”Think Auburn First” Winemaker Dinner is Sold Out
Our “Think Auburn First” winemaker dinner and fund raiser is sold out. This first-time event features all Placer County wines paired with PlacerGrown produce, and we’ll be conducting a live auction of great prizes to help support the operation of “Think Auburn First,” an operating team of the Chamber of Commerce whose goal is to encourage Auburn residents to shop here first before heading down the hill.
Think Auburn First will sponsor its first public event on November 8th, with Think Auburn First Day during which there will be special promotions across town. Stay tuned for details.
Wine Club Members to Pack Italian Wine Tasting
Besides getting access to great wines at great discounts, Carpe Vino Wine Club members enjoy a host of other benefits, including first crack at signing up for special wine events and tastings. We announced our September 17th Italian Wine Tasting to our wine club members first (we have more than 300 wine lovers in the club), and the event sold out in less than 12 hours.
It doesn’t cost anything to join the wine club, and you can cancel at any time. All you need do is agree to purchase a minimum of 12 bottles per year that we select (details below). There are wine options and price points to suit just about everyone, and you get some real advantages. . .such as all corkage and restaurant wine service charges are waived whenever you dine at Carpe Vino.
We’re having another special event on October 8th—a tasting of high-end wines paired with delicious appetizers, and Wine Club members get first crack at reserving a seat at the table, so it is likely this event will sell out quickly.
So, join the Wine Club and you’ll be among the first in the know. And membership is great for your resume.
100 New Wine Club Members Can’t Be Wrong. . . it’s a Freakin’ Smokin’ Deal
Online Wine Shop to Open Soon We sold wine online when we first opened the shop, but we got out of the business because it was strictly a price game. Our shtick is to seek out low-production, hard-to-find, great-tasting wines at value pricing.
Long story short, we’re putting up a new wine store to feature wines tasted in our videos, Placer County wines and special values we are promoting at any given time. Our goal is to limit the number of wines available in our online store to 25 to 50 selections.
This will be a service to the many fans of Carpe Vino who live outside of the area and can’t get in to buy wine in the flesh. We’ll give it a shot and see what happens.
Look for an announcement within the next couple of weeks.
